Ms Farrar had been serving as interim chief finance officer since mid-March 2020 and went on to secure the role on a permanent basis. She brings with her a wealth of experience in finance and transformational roles working both in and out of the social housing sector.
For the previous four years she has worked as an industry consultant in a host of associations including Womens’ Pioneer, Tower Hamlets Community Housing, Riverside, Sage, Paradigm, Beyond, Housing Solutions and the Scottish Housing Regulator.
Ms Farrar said: “I am delighted to join the Platform team. I am looking forward to being part of an organisation with a strong social purpose and reputable commercial standing. I will be working to ensure that we build on our financial position and continue to develop as a leading force across the sector.”
Mr Oakley joins the Platform Group following a successful nine years in the social housing sector which included executive director roles with Curo and Coastal Housing and non-executive director roles with Wandle Housing Association (London) and Linc Cymru HA. Prior to that Mr Oakley worked as a Managing Director in the private sector at both Barratt Developments and Keepmoat Homes.
Mr Oakley said: “I am very excited to be joining Platform at a pivotal time for the sector. We have some challenging growth ambitions to deliver and I am keen to use our strength and potential to shape and expand our development horizons even further.”
Elizabeth Froude, chief executive at Platform Housing Group, said: “We’re delighted to have Rosemary and Gerraint on board. Both bring with them a wealth of industry knowledge, commercial acumen and a dynamism that will be crucial as we work to consolidate existing relationships and develop new ones that will enable us to finance and deliver even more much-needed new homes across the country.”
